Dental Veneers at
Clovercrest Dental Surgery
Dental veneers are a layer of porcelain or resin filling material that we place on top of natural teeth to:
> Improve their shape or size
> Cover dark staining and discoloration
> Make your smile look straighter
> Provide fast aesthetic results
The Veneer Procedure
Depending on the type of veneer you select, the procedure will vary slightly.
Traditional porcelain veneers require us to shave back a little bit of your natural tooth, then take an impression. Our lab creates the porcelain veneers and then returns them in 1-2 weeks for us to bond in place.
Resin veneers use filling material to cover and reshape the tooth without relying on an offsite lab to make the restoration. Instead, Dr Vonny Yang (Dentist) makes it during the same appointment.
Care and Maintenance
Anyone getting veneers should be careful about what they eat, because these aesthetic restorations are not made for significant wear and pressure. Avoid biting into hard things like apples or pears, choosing to cut them into smaller slices instead.
Porcelain veneers are more durable than resin designs but may still need to be replaced every 10-15 years. Because resin can stain easily, they may need to be changed out as frequently as every 5-10 years.
Are Veneers Right for You?
Dental veneers are an aesthetic procedure that’s best for healthy individuals free of tooth decay or gum disease. During your consultation, Dr Vonny will evaluate the teeth you have concerns with and determine if veneers are the best solution.
Depending on what your smile has been through, we also offer treatments like ceramic crowns, bridges, Invisalign® and implant restorations.
